Fountain incorporates a statutory framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It’s a standard requirement for all early years providers to ensure children learn, develop well, and are kept healthy and safe. The EYFS promotes teaching and learning which ensures school readiness to equip students with a broad range of knowledge and skill set for a bright future progression in both school and life.

The EYFS seeks to provide these four pedestals of learning:

  • Quality and consistency – applied in all settings for every child to make good progress so no one gets left behind
  • Secure foundation – each learning and development opportunity is regularly assessed and reviewed to suit the needs and interests of each child
  • Working partnership – a fulfilling relationship between parents and the school
  • Equal opportunity – discrimination will not be tolerated, every child will have holistic learning regardless of race and religion

In addition, the EYFS also upholds these four guiding principles for every child: every child is a unique child, children can be strong and independent through positive relationships, children develop well in enabling environments, and children learn in different ways at different rates.
