Preparatory
Want the best international education in Manila? Start with Preparatory (Kinder) here at FIS!
Fountain incorporates a statutory framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It’s a standard requirement for all early years providers to ensure children learn, develop well, and are kept healthy and safe. The EYFS promotes teaching and learning which ensures school readiness to equip students with a broad range of knowledge and skill set for a bright future progression in both school and life.
The EYFS seeks to provide these four pedestals of learning:
- Quality and consistency – applied in all settings for every child to make good progress so no one gets left behind
- Secure foundation – each learning and development opportunity is regularly assessed and reviewed to suit the needs and interests of each child
- Working partnership – a fulfilling relationship between parents and the school
- Equal opportunity – discrimination will not be tolerated, every child will have holistic learning regardless of race and religion
In addition, the EYFS also upholds these four guiding principles for every child: every child is a unique child, children can be strong and independent through positive relationships, children develop well in enabling environments, and children learn in different ways at different rates.
Finally, the EFYS here at Fountain integrates concepts such as the Sustainable Development Goals, global citizenship, and practical life skills, ensuring that students get one of the best international education experiences here in Manila.

My time in FIS had been refreshing and had led me to learn new things that I couldn’t have learned in my hometown. For one, I’ve met many different people, teachers and schoolmates combined, each with lessons they had to teach me not only in preparation for school, but for life too. I really relish my time staying there, and I feel so blessed meeting certain people within the FIS community.

Studying away from my family was a big challenge but FIS has become my second family. I just can’t begin to explain how much I love my friends and my teachers. I have discovered myself here in school —my talents, my skills.

High School life has been really fun. I liked and enjoyed student life here especially because I got to be with my friends. It was so fun working with the people from this school. The overnight camping was awesome! I had a great time talking to and bonding with my classmates and schoolmates.

I feel that during the years that I’ve been in FIS, I’ve grown emotionally and learned so much about myself. I feel so lucky to be in this school because of the people I’ve met, field trips I attended, and things I’ve experienced here. To be completely honest, for all the drama and laughter, I wouldn’t trade a single one of those moments for something different.
